1 A Meditation of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.
1 Ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυΐδ, ὃν ᾖσε τῷ Κυρίῳ ὑπὲρ τῶν λόγων Χουσὶ υἱοῦ Ἰεμενεί.
2 O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,
2 ΚΥΡΙΕ ὁ Θεός μου, ἐπὶ σοὶ ἤλπισα· σῶσόν με ἐκ πάντων τῶν διωκόντων με καὶ ρῦσαί με,
3 Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 μήποτε ἁρπάσῃ ὡς λέων τὴν ψυχήν μου, μὴ ὄντος λυτρουμένου μηδὲ σῴζοντος.
4 O LORD my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands,
4 Κύριε ὁ Θεός μου, εἰ ἐποίησα τοῦτο, εἰ ἔστιν ἀδικία ἐν χερσί μου,
5 If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,
5 εἰ ἀνταπέδωκα τοῖς ἀνταποδιδοῦσί μοι κακά, ἀποπέσοιμι ἄρα ἀπὸ τῶν ἐχθρῶν μου κενός·
6 Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6 καταδιώξαι ἄρα ὁ ἐχθρὸς τὴν ψυχήν μου καὶ καταλάβοι καὶ καταπατήσαι εἰς γῆν τὴν ζωήν μου καὶ τὴν δόξαν μου εἰς χοῦν κατασκηνώσαι. (διάψαλμα).
7 Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!
7 ἀνάστηθι, Κύριε, ἐν ὀργῇ σου, ὑψώθητι ἐν τοῖς πέρασι τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου. ἐξεγέρθητι, Κύριε ὁ Θεός μου, ἐν προστάγματι, ᾧ ἐνετείλω,
8 So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high.
8 καὶ συναγωγὴ λαῶν κυκλώσει σε, καὶ ὑπὲρ ταύτης εἰς ὕψος ἐπίστρεψον.
9 The LORD shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.
9 Κύριος κρινεῖ λαούς. κρῖνόν με, Κύριε, κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν ἀκακίαν μου ἐπ᾿ ἐμοί.
10 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.
10 συντελεσθήτω δὴ πονηρία ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ κατευθυνεῖς δίκαιον, ἐτάζων καρδίας καὶ νεφροὺς ὁ Θεός.
11 My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.
11 δικαία ἡ βοήθειά μου παρὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ σῴζοντος τοὺς εὐθεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ.
12 God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 ὁ Θεὸς κριτὴς δίκαιος καὶ ἰσχυρὸς καὶ μακρόθυμος καὶ μὴ ὀργὴν ἐπάγων καθ᾿ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν.
13 If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13 ἐὰν μὴ ἐπιστραφῆτε, τὴν ρομφαίαν αὐτοῦ στιλβώσει, τὸ τόξον αὐτοῦ ἐνέτεινε καὶ ἡτοίμασεν αὐτό·
14 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
14 καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ ἡτοίμασε σκεύη θανάτου, τὰ βέλη αὐτοῦ τοῖς καιομένοις ἐξειργάσατο.
15 Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.
15 ἰδοὺ ὠδίνησεν ἀδικίαν, συνέλαβε πόνον καὶ ἔτεκεν ἀνομίαν.
16 He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 λάκκον ὤρυξε καὶ ἀνέσκαψεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς βόθρον, ὃν εἰργάσατο·
17 His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
17 ἐπιστρέψει ὁ πόνος αὐτοῦ εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπὶ κορυφὴν αὐτοῦ ἡ ἀδικία αὐτοῦ καταβήσεται.
18 I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
18 ἐξομολογήσομαι τῷ Κυρίῳ κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτοῦ καὶ ψαλῶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου τοῦ Ὑψίστου.
