Old Testament
1 These are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
1 ΚΑΙ οὗτοι οἱ σταθμοὶ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ὡς ἐξῆλθον ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου σὺν δυνάμει αὐτῶν ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ καὶ Ἀαρών·
2 Now Moses wrote down the starting points of their journeys at the command of the LORD. And these are their journeys according to their starting points:
2 καὶ ἔγραψε Μωυσῆς τὰς ἀπάρσεις αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς σταθμοὺς αὐτῶν διὰ ρήματος Κυρίου, καὶ οὗτοι οἱ σταθμοὶ τῆς πορείας αὐτῶν.
3 They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians.
3 ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ραμεσσῆ τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πρώτῳ τῇ πεντεκαιδεκάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου· τῇ ἐπαύριον τοῦ πάσχα ἐξῆλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν χειρὶ ὑψηλῇ ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν Αἰγυπτίων,
4 For the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had killed among them. Also on their gods the LORD had executed judgments.
4 καὶ οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἔθαπτον ἐξ αὐτῶν τοὺς τεθνηκότας πάντας, οὓς ἐπάταξε Κύριος, πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, καὶ ἐν τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν ἐποίησε τὴν ἐκδίκησιν Κύριος.
5 Then the children of Israel moved from Rameses and camped at Succoth.
5 καὶ ἀπάραντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ Ραμεσσῆ παρενέβαλον εἰς Σοκχώθ.
6 They departed from Succoth and camped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.
6 καὶ ἀπάραντες ἐκ Σοκχὼθ παρενέβαλον εἰς Βουθάν, ὅ ἐστι μέρος τι τῆς ἐρήμου.
7 They moved from Etham and turned back to Pi Hahiroth, which is east of Baal Zephon; and they camped near Migdol.
7 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Βουθὰν καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ τὸ στόμα Εἰρώθ, ὅ ἐστιν ἀπέναντι Βεελσεπφῶν, καὶ παρενέβαλον ἀπέναντι Μαγδώλου.
8 They departed from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, went three days’ journey in the Wilderness of Etham, and camped at Marah.
8 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἀπέναντι Εἰρὼθ καὶ διέβησαν μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς τὴν ἔρημον καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὁδὸν τριῶν ἡμερῶν διὰ τῆς ἐρήμου αὐτοὶ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Πικρίαις.
9 They moved from Marah and came to Elim. At Elim were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there.
9 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Πικριῶν καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Αἰλίμ· καὶ ἐν Αἰλὶμ δώδεκα πηγαὶ ὑδάτων καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα στελέχη φοινίκων, καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐκεῖ παρὰ τὸ ὕδωρ.
10 They moved from Elim and camped by the Red Sea.
10 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Αἰλὶμ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ θάλασσαν ἐρυθράν.
11 They moved from the Red Sea and camped in the Wilderness of Sin.
11 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἀπὸ θαλάσσης ἐρυθρᾶς, καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Σίν.
12 They journeyed from the Wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah.
12 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου Σὶν καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ραφακά.
13 They departed from Dophkah and camped at Alush.
13 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ραφακὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Αἰλούς.
14 They moved from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
14 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Αἰλοὺς καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ραφιδίν, καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ ὕδωρ τῷ λαῷ πιεῖν.
15 They departed from Rephidim and camped in the Wilderness of Sinai.
15 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ραφιδὶν καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σινά.
16 They moved from the Wilderness of Sinai and camped at Kibroth Hattaavah.
16 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου Σινὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Μνήμασι τῆς ἐπιθυμίας.
17 They departed from Kibroth Hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.
17 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Μνημάτων τῆς ἐπιθυμίας καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ἀσηρώθ.
18 They departed from Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah.
18 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Ἀσηρὼθ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ραθαμᾷ.
19 They departed from Rithmah and camped at Rimmon Perez.
19 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ραθαμᾶ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ρεμμὼν Φαρές.
20 They departed from Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah.
20 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ρεμμὼν Φαρὲς καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Λεβωνᾷ.
21 They moved from Libnah and camped at Rissah.
21 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Λεβωνᾷ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ρεσσάν.
22 They journeyed from Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.
22 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ρεσσὰν καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Μακελλάθ.
23 They went from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.
23 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Μακελλὰθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Σαφάρ.
24 They moved from Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.
24 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Σαφὰρ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Χαραδάθ.
25 They moved from Haradah and camped at Makheloth.
25 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Χαραδὰθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Μακηλώθ.
26 They moved from Makheloth and camped at Tahath.
26 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Μακηλὼθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Καταάθ.
27 They departed from Tahath and camped at Terah.
27 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Καταὰθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ταράθ.
28 They moved from Terah and camped at Mithkah.
28 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Ταρὰθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Μαθεκκά.
29 They went from Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah.
29 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Μαθεκκὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Σελμωνᾶ.
30 They departed from Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth.
30 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Σελμωνᾶ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Μασουρούθ.
31 They departed from Moseroth and camped at Bene Jaakan.
31 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Μασουροὺθ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Βαναία.
32 They moved from Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Hagidgad.
32 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Βαναία καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς τὸ ὄρος Γαδγάδ.
33 They went from Hor Hagidgad and camped at Jotbathah.
33 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους Γαδγὰδ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ἐτεβαθά.
34 They moved from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.
34 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Ἐτεβαθὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ἐβρωνά.
35 They departed from Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.
35 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Ἐβρωνὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Γεσιὼν Γάβερ.
36 They moved from Ezion Geber and camped in the Wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.
36 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Γεσιὼν Γάβερ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σίν. καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου Σὶν καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Φαράν· αὕτη ἐστὶ Κάδης.
37 They moved from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the boundary of the land of Edom.
37 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Κάδης καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Ὤρ τὸ ὄρος πλησίον γῆς Ἐδώμ·
38 Then Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the LORD, and died there in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month.
38 καὶ ἀνέβη Ἀαρὼν ὁ ἱερεὺς διὰ προστάγματος Κυρίου καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐκεῖ ἐν τῷ τεσσαρακοστῷ ἔτει τῆς ἐξόδου τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πέμπτῳ μιᾷ τοῦ μηνός·
39 Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
39 καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἦν τριῶν καὶ εἴκοσι καὶ ἑκατὸν ἐτῶν, ὅτε ἀπέθνησκεν ἐν Ὢρ τῷ ὄρει.
40 Now the king of Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.
40 καὶ ἀκούσας ὁ Χανανὶς βασιλεὺς Ἀράδ, καὶ οὗτος κατῴκει ἐν γῇ Χαναάν, ὅτε εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραήλ.
41 So they departed from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.
41 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Ὢρ τοῦ ὄρους καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Σελμωνά.
42 They departed from Zalmonah and camped at Punon.
42 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Σελμωνὰ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Φινώ.
43 They departed from Punon and camped at Oboth.
43 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Φινὼ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ὠβώθ.
44 They departed from Oboth and camped at Ije Abarim, at the border of Moab.
44 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐξ Ὠβὼθ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Γαΐ, ἐν τῷ πέραν ἐπὶ τῶν ὁρίων Μωάβ.
45 They departed from Ijim and camped at Dibon Gad.
45 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Γαΐ καὶ παρενέβαλον εἰς Δαιβὼν Γάδ.
46 They moved from Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim.
46 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Δαιβὼν Γὰδ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Γελμὼν Δεβλαθαίμ.
47 They moved from Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
47 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἐκ Γελμὼν Δεβλαθαὶμ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη τὰ Ἀβαρίμ, ἀπέναντι Ναβαῦ.
48 They departed from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.
48 καὶ ἀπῇραν ἀπὸ τῶν ὀρέων Ἀβαρὶμ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωάβ, ἐπὶ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου κατὰ Ἱεριχώ,
49 They camped by the Jordan, from Beth Jesimoth as far as the Abel Acacia Grove in the plains of Moab.
49 καὶ παρενέβαλον παρὰ τὸν Ἰορδάνην ἀνὰ μέσον Αἰσιμὼθ ἕως Βελσατὶμ κατὰ δυσμὰς Μωάβ.
50 Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying,
50 Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωὰβ παρὰ τὸν Ἰορδάνην κατὰ Ἱεριχὼ λέγων·
51 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
51 λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς· ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ἰορδάνην εἰς γῆν Χαναὰν
52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places;
52 καὶ ἀπολεῖτε πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ γῇ πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξαρεῖτε τὰς σκοπιὰς αὐτῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ χωνευτὰ αὐτῶν ἀπολεῖτε αὐτὰ καὶ πάσας τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν ἐξαρεῖτε.
53 you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
53 καὶ ἀπολεῖτε πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν καὶ κατοικήσετε ἐν αὐτῇ· ὑμῖν γὰρ δέδωκα τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν ἐν κλήρῳ.
54 And you shall divide the land by lot as an inheritance among your families; to the larger you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give a smaller inheritance; there everyone’s inheritance shall be whatever falls to him by lot. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.
54 καὶ κατακληρονομήσετε τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν ἐν κλήρῳ κατὰ φυλὰς ὑμῶν· τοῖς πλείοσι πληθυνεῖτε τὴν κατάσχεσιν αὐτῶν καὶ τοῖς ἐλάττοσιν ἐλαττώσετε τὴν κατάσχεσιν αὐτῶν· εἰς ὃ ἂν ἐξέλθῃ τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ, αὐτοῦ ἔσται· κατὰ φυλὰς πατριῶν ὑμῶν κληρονομήσετε.
55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.
55 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀπολέσητε τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν, καὶ ἔσται οὓς ἐὰν καταλίπητε ἐξ αὐτῶν, σκόλοπες ἐν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ὑμῶν καὶ βολίδες ἐν ταῖς πλευραῖς ὑμῶν καὶ ἐχθρεύσουσιν ὑμῖν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἐφ' ἣν ὑμεῖς κατοικήσετε,
56 Moreover it shall be that I will do to you as I thought to do to them.’ ”
56 καὶ ἔσται καθότι διεγνώκειν ποιῆσαι αὐτούς, ποιήσω ὑμᾶς.
