New Testament

The first letter was brought to Corinth by Titus with another brother, whose name the divine Paul does not tell us.
After Titus had organized the collection in Corinth for the poor Christians in Jerusalem, he returned to Ephesus. In the meantime, Timothy also came to Corinth and found the situation not pleasant, because the authority of the Apostle was once again seriously challenged and the schism that had divided the Church of Corinth continued. The Apostle was therefore forced to send a second stern letter to the Corinthians, which Titus brought to them and which was lost. Meanwhile, Paul's stay in Ephesus became full of dangers, because of which he left there, and came to Troas, hoping to meet Titus there, bringing news about those in Corinth. But since he did not find him there, full of anxiety, he left Troas in haste to meet Titus, who was in Macedonia. The news that Titus conveyed to him about the situation in Corinth was encouraging and pleasant. So then he writes this second letter of his and sends it to the Corinthians again through Titus, visiting Corinth for the third time.
The time at which this letter was sent is therefore not far from the time at which the first letter was written, because the events alluded to in 2 Corinthians could have taken place within a period of 7-8 months. So if the first letter was written at the end of 54 or the beginning of 55 AD, the second was written around the autumn of 55.
